Quick, efficient iron
Really good iron. At the moment, no issues. The only slight thing is that I'd prefer the cable a bit longer but it's not a big problem. Irons quickly. I am much happier.

great
great iron, came up as a Which best buy, was a good price on Amazon. Only downside is the electric lead has got shorter than my previous one which was a similar model, so you need to be close to the power supply. There is also no clip to stop the cord unwinding when stored, so if your old iron has one, keep it.

UPDATE:
*EDIT*This is a review based on my second iron (received yesterday). The first iron (purchased in May this year) literally stopped working on Tuesday this week. Was fine for a while then the steam ceased, the power ceased and the iron DIED!!! I decided to replace it with the same model and have also taken out an extended warranty (just to be on the safe side). Very disappointed in Philips (always thought they produced quality products???). The only good thing I can say is that the cable on the iron that arrived yesterday does appear to be a little longer. Will see how it goes!!!What is wrong with this manufacturer? Had an older Philips steam iron (now 5 years old) which has always been perfect. Ordered an upgrade ( as the old one is now underperforming). It arrived, looks great but the cable is so bloody short, it only just reaches to the end of the ironing board!!!!! Really disappointed. Sent back. Ridiculous!

Philips 7000 steam iron
Good iron at Amazon discounted price is easy to use and very efficient on varied items from shirts through trousers to curtains. Like many modern irons is large compared to old ones but does have a good limescale filter. Weight is not much different. Also has a good flexing cable connection. Only issue I have is that with large hands it is very easy to catch heat setting dial when picking it up during ironing and inadvertently changing setting, in my case always turning it down to cooler setting; that needs getting used to.
