Works well
So, my hair is dyed dark blond, which looks more like light brown, and I ordered this to tone down the copper in my hair (which is really how some grey that I have takes color). I used a whole tube on my short bob, so I doubt it would be enough for longer hair, as someone already stated. The process is not messy, the stuff is thick and has a strong professional product scent, pleasant enough to me. It did leave my hair a bit dry, I felt, but the red is definitely toned down. Not sure how long the effect will last, but I'm pleased with the result for now. In all fairness, I am waiting for their 'Tint rinse' red neutralizer to be back in stock on esalon site to try that out. Seems like a more convenient and economical option, wish it was available on Amazon. Hope this helps.

Miracle Product and so cheap!
Where has this product been? My hair is much more silvery and toned after just one use. The secret? Keep it on for a half hour. Sometimes I keep it on overnight if my blonde is especially brassy. Awesome for in between hair colorings and actually doesn't stain your hands. It's amazing. I'm obsessed.

It works great!
I really love this product and I’m so happy with how my hair turned out! I have dark roots and the rest of my hair is a honey blonde shade. I prefer ash blonde and of course after a few weeks my hair gets brassy and that’s how I end up with the honey blonde. Instead of dying my hair over and over again with an ash dye I've been trying different products out. When I came across this product I wasn’t sure which one to purchase. There’s a blonde neutralizer and the red neutralizer. I decided I would try the blonde neutralizer and if it didn’t work then I would purchase the red neutralizer. I shampooed and conditioned my hair and then applied the blonde neutralizer (rich deep blue color) all over my damp hair and left it for 20min. It smells so good and left my hair nice and soft. The brassiness is gone! My hair is still light and looks very natural. Back to an ash natural blonde with a darker root. No green or weirdness going on. I will definitely buy more. I highly recommend this product

Make this in a bigger bottle!
My hairdresser rushed my blonde highlights on my medium brown hair. I was disappointed because they came out brassy. I tried to fix it by toning my entire head of hair with a wella ash toner and 20 developer. It worked on the brassy highlights but turned my cool brown base reddish brown. Some skin tones look amazing in this color but definitely not mine. I spent an entire day on YouTube trying to figure out how to fix it. Lots of things helped a little but this esalon red neutralizes blew them all away. My cool brown is back and my hair is shiny and soft. It darkened my highlights a little but for me that is an added bonus. It is a small container so next time I order I will purchase several. I just used it this morning so I can't testify to longevity of results. I'm fine with using this every time I wash if needed.

Cools down too red tones in dark hair- highly recommend
I have dark hair that pulls red anytime I try to lighten- a problem most brunettes probably have encountered! This mask helps cool the tone down much more effectively than using a blue shampoo- it doesn't work miracles but it's inexpensive, easy to use and left my hair feeling super soft and looking shiny and less orangey- red

finally a solution! to get red out of brunette
I had been dying my hair a medium warm brunette for a while at home and I wanted my hair to grow out so I stopped dying it. That left me with a 4-inch band of a very cool brunette, so I tried to dye all my hair a medium-dark cool brunette to match my roots better and also make it easier to grow out. However, my roots at the top of my head and the hair around my face was still pulling super red. After some googling, I learned how hard it is to get red out of brunette hair, but I saw I youtube video getting this product so I decided to try it. I had also tried a couple other products such as a John Frieda red neutralizer for in the shower and tried a toner from sallys. Neither really worked enough and I couldn't afford to go to the salon. To be honest, the first couple times that I used it it didn't do a ton, but third times the charm and I put the toner on my dry hair and then let it sit for like 25 minutes. I used it about 3 times in a month, each bottle you can probably get 2 used out if it's just your roots. That's more than the direction states and I didn't mean to actually put it on for as long as I did, but when I washed it off about 80% of the red was almost totally gone. I don't have a before picture, but as you can see my hair is barely still red, and the little that's still there doesn't bother me because it was way worse before. definitely getting another bottle to use again!

Different formula?
I used to buy this product from esalon itself when I colored my hair with their products. This product is thinner and has a different smell than I encountered previously. It used to do a decent job toning down the brass in my silver grey hair.Maybe the formula was changed. I did not notice a huge difference after 1 use. That's why I gave it 4 stars.I will try it again - there are several uses in that small tube. I would like to think it's not a diluted version to sell on Amazon.

Good results, worth a try.
I have naturally medium brown hair. I color at home because I’m about 50% gray at age 33. I recently colored my hair dark ash blonde, which left my crown (I had about 3ish inches of untouched growth) orangey/red. Purple and blue shampoos used on several occasions had a minimal effect, if any. I resorted to trying this mask after seeing “Elle Bangs” on YouTube demonstrate the same red neutralizer in shampoo version. I applied about half of the tube to the top 5 inches of my dry hair, and then combed it through the rest. Left it in for 20 minutes, and rinsed. I am impressed with the results. When coloring, my hair always takes on a very stubborn red hue, that I dislike. I’d prefer my results to be ashier, but, I am overall pleased with this product!
