This is how a box set should be.
Loved the fact this box set comes with a 180 gram remastered LP and a multichannel version on disc. Remaster and multichannel sound great.

Get it for the 5.1mixes alone!
The first Fleetwood Mac album with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham has finally gotten the deluxe treatment. As with the previous releases the set includes the remastered original album, single mixes, outtakes, live material and the LP on 180 gram vinyl. This set also includes the 5.1 mixes of the complete album on the DVD (Tango In The Night is the only reissue to not include 5.1 mixes). The original album has been reissued previously, along with the single mixes. The alternate or early versions are all new. These mixes don’t differ a whole lot from the final versions, but are just different enough to make them interesting. The real treat here are the live tracks and the 5.1 mixes. First the live material, the first tour with Buckingham Nicks was tricky, the band had to introduce two totally new members as well as pay respect to their existing catalog. What you get is a handful of songs from the new album and several older Mac stage classics. This would The last Mac tour to pull songs from the 1967-1974 albums. Peter Green’s “Oh Well” would be the only song to stick around for several more tours. It’s a shame that Christine didn’t continue to do some of her older Mac songs on stage after this tour, she’s got some great songs that work well with the Buckingham Nicks harmonies. For Stevie Nicks fans she is sprinkled thruout the songs, but only sings lead on two songs, “Rhiannon” And “Landslide”. Her backing vocals pop up all over the place. On the live tracks she adds her eerie wail to the end of the Peter Green classic “The Green Manalishi” (later covered by Metal Gods Judas Priest). But at the heart of this set are the 5.1mixes. Mixed here by long time Mac producer Ken Caillat, a whole new world is discovered. Lots of little tweaks thruout. They sound outstanding. For a 43 year old album, they sound brand new. Ear candy for Mac fans. “Rumours” gets all the talk about being the greatest Fleetwood Mac album, but the 1975 “White Album” is an incredible introduction to the new line up. In many ways “Fleetwood Mac” is “Part One” And “Rumours” is “Part Two”. A really solid set from start to finish.

All I can say is "WOW" greatness gets even better in 5.1 by Fleetwood Mac
All I can say is "Wow". I bought this disc for the 5.1 mix of this great recording, and boy am I over the moon with it. Ken Calliat took a chance and altered what we are hearing from the original mix. Some purists may cry "fowl" but I cry "UNBELIEVABLE GREAT". Who knew they left off or buried all these great vocals & guitars in the original mix. It's like hearing a completely different recording. (Giles Martin Take note for NOT doing this with Sgt. Pepper in 5.1) It amazes and makes it all worth the price if the set. It is going to take a few listens to get past the double tracking vocal on "Landslide" . That might be a tough listen for some because that song was so personal to all of us. BUT, considering everything else that we now get to hear, it is a triumph and a joy all over again!!BUY IT!!!

But good luck finding it
I just still can't comprehend why 5.1 surround sound for recordings just never got mass appeal. Listening to the 5.1 surround mix on this release is the reason why I bought it. It is stunning. It is mixed perfectly. Yes the "differences" from the original release can be jarring at first, but the sonic nuances and increased clarity make it total ear candy. Lindsey was an early adopter of 5.1 mixes. If you really want to hear what it can bring to a Mac recording, get the 5.1 version of the Day You Will album. But good luck finding it.

Vinyl pressing is great.
Vinyl pressing is excellent. Of course the CDs are excellent as well but DVD should have been blu ray lossless.

Good Set, Could Have Been Better
Great set as with the previous FM deluxe sets but why they are so expensive on Amazon USA beats me....the same set is about $40 cheaper on Amazon UK (which is where I bought mine). Also, I know pro shot footage exists of the Capitol Theater show (I have a copy of it with a watermark saying For Promotional Use Only at the bottom of the screen) so why not include that in this set? It looks and sounds great and would have been a nice treat for the fans to see one of the early shows Buckingham and Nicks performed with the rest of the band.

Honeymoon Mac
It is a brilliant, perfect album and you can really feel and hear the youthful energy. This is the Honeymoon phase of the the Buckingham Nicks line-up. The box set is superb, gorgeous photography and fantastic outtakes but I cannot help but wish the songwriters (McVie, Buckingham, Nicks) had commented on each song and its creation and meaning to them the way they did on Rumours and Tusk. Still - an essential release for the true fan.

schnell geliefert - sehr ausgewogene Musik in Ambiente-Surround
