I tested just 2 of the voltage ranges (5v and 9v) under load and saw that the power supply cannot keep the rated voltage under load. Here are a couple measurements:No load5v setting: 5.3v9v setting: 9.3v1A load5v setting: 4.85v9v setting: 8.85v1.5A load9v setting: 8.76vI tried around 2-2.5A on the 5v setting with the USB connector and it went as low as roughly 4.5v.Sorry I couldn't do more voltage tests, I'm disabled so it's hard to set up my equipment. I don't think I trust it's 45W rating.. - even the manual in it's box claims only 2.2A load instead of the 3A claimed on the power supply sticker and online.If you don't know what these figures mean, and you're simply wondering if this will work for your gadget, I would say that yes, it likely will work, especially on lower power devices. Basically, I wouldn't try to use this to power a laptop, but something like a router or an IP camera should be fine. Most devices are tolerant of a small voltage fluctuation, but if you need something precise, this is not it.One last note: As with ANY chinese power supply or anything that plugs into the wall, be careful as they usually do not have the proper safety ratings (UL or ETL) so don't leave them unattended if possible.

I purchased this particular power supply for three reasons:*) Variable output voltage.*) Selection of charging tips (plugs).*) Incredibly low price.I had purchased a rechargeable battery pack on-line. It did not come with a charger. It also did not specify the charging plug size. So I bought this little guy. Quality appears great. The voltage selection wheel has very positive detents so there is little to no chance of it slipping to a different voltage. One of the provided plugs fit my battery pack. There is a provided tool to fit the selector wheel. Among the charging tips provide is a micro USB plug. That's so cool. You can charge your android phone with this thing. Just be sure to set the wheel to 5 volts. With the tips provided, and the ability to change voltage, this charger will charge anything requiring 3000ma or less. I'm thinking of getting another one just to have around the house. How often have you wanted to charge something, maybe an old device, maybe something you lost the charger for, or maybe a friend's device needs a charge while visiting? This should handle most any small charger duty. Not often have I been this pleased with a purchase.

Reason why I rate this 4 stars is becuase the Jacks should have been built as straight and not angled (see attached pic), unfortunately the device I had to use it on had a deep port & as such only a straight jack could go as far in to work. So this jack couldn't enter it but I had to do a workaround with an extender from another adapter I had bought sometime ago before I was finally able to make this work.Also, this adapter could use a polarity switcher as well in addition to the multi volt switch.

I am an Audio visual technician. In my line of work I deal with devices powered by walwort power supplies of low quality. They fail pretty often. This item is an universal backup power charger. I plan to use it temporarily till the original chargers been replaced.

It worked and then it didn't one day.
