The individual slots are in a triangle about 1 1/2 long and 1 inch across at the widest part

Q: Can you turn the alarm off?

The alarm is set according to what time you want the alarm to come on. The alarm goes off, when you flip it over, so the meds can come out. If you don't want any alarms remove those times, or take the batteries out. FYI, my elderly mother loves it. I load the meds, I set the alarms, and it reminds her to take. Hope this helps
