My husband has the bigger scale version of these types of rc cars and my son has been wanting his own. This car is perfect for him. He is 7 years old and he can handle it just fine. It is very fast but also easy to control. And the price point is perfect for a kids car. I was actually surprised at how well it was made and how good the plastic parts were. It is all just as good quality as my husbands bigger scale rc cars.

This RC is a gift for me. I was first attracted by its looks, because this doodling design style is very unique. The operation part is also very satisfactory—very agile and the turning function is very accurate. The capacity of the battery is better than I thought it would be, so it is worth the money I paid. And where can I buy more batteries?

Alright folks, here's the in-depth raw review of the Ratchet. I've owned the car for about a month now and I can safely say this is most definitely a hobby grade vehicle.I'll start with my personal experience and then move into a piece by piece review of this vehicle. It really is worthy of a proper review.I am almost 40 years old and bought my first Team Associated RC10 race buggy at 14. I have driven many different types and makes of RC cars and have seen the good and the bad. The Ratchet 1/18 scale sandrail by Haiboxing is legit. Ridiculous speed, amazing durability and with some really affordable upgrades this car rides the line between toy and something I want to take to the track and try out against some competition!Now let's break it down.Terrain:I've smashed this beast through deep puddles, snow, sand, wet sand, mud, trail rides full of sticks rocks and pine needles, wood surfaces, blacktop, concrete, lawn length grass. It literally crushes all of these crazy well! It doesn't go through terrain that's taller than the vehicle. Makes sense. It's a 1/18 scale so it's little more than one hands length for me. It goes through what you would expect for such a tiny car. But, it's got SO MUCH TORQUE! It's like a Tasmanian Devil of a car!Waterproof rating and usability:This car is water rated to IPX4. It handles more like IPX6. I really like electronic things to be waterproof and I live in an area that rains. A lot. So, a true waterproof rating is very important to me. No different with an RC car except maybe more so because I know I wanted a car that can handle any weather. The Ratchet does not disappoint!! It has never glitched or malfunctioned even when driving through water fully submerged! Though driving through that deep of water is NOT recommended by the company. This is only my personal experience.Speed:The radio has 2 speed settings. Slow mode is perfect for a child to whip it and still be in control. And normal mode is all out crazy! The 4WD gives this car the ability to drift and keep speed through the turn on any surface. Top speed is 36kph and I believe that. I bought an upgraded battery which increased speed by about 10kph! And it lasts super long. The stock battery lasts about 20 minutes on full throttle driving and takes maybe an hour to charge. And it's usb rechargeable so you can throw it in the car on on a laptop or anything. The car is built to be upgraded in many ways. One being that the bolt and hinge on the battery latch were perfectly adjustable to accommodate the bigger battery size. Another key piece is that the speed matches the durability of the components. Many lower priced cars sacrifice the integrity of the components and then the car can't handle the rated speed. I've had the upgraded batteries the whole time so with the stock battery I have no doubt that this car would last for years without breakage under normal driving conditions. The radio does not have a throttle trim, but the throttle is very smooth and responsive for lots of different driving styles and terrains. All in all it's super fast and loads of fun.Components:First off, like any hobby grade car, all the components are replaceable on this 1/18 scale. Second, this car is super tough and through all the major high speed crashes and flying off huge jumps at the skate park, I haven't bent or broken anything! The bearings are great as well. Super smooth and easily maintained. I purchased the upgraded oil shocks for $19 with the car. They function perfectly. I ran it for about 5 minutes and I crushed on the stock friction shocks. More than I expected for such a small car. But immediately hooked up the upgrade. Which brings me to the weight of this car. It has a good heavy weight to it that allows it to maintain great control and keep from flipping at high speed on tough terrain. The entire car feels solid and the plastic is high grade and obviously made to withstand some serious abuse.Radio:I'll start by saying that I feel this radio is as precise as many higher end radios. It doesn't have a throttle or steering trim, but it does have a very accurate alignment control on the radio that can be adjusted on the fly to perfection. It's also very light which is great for the hours of driving that I get out of my 2 high capacity batteries. It's ergonomic and has excellent proportional control for steering and throttle. It takes two AA batteries and it really straightforward. The level of control is very surprising at the price point.The Company:I have had some very pleasant interactions with the company people for sure. Enough that I have joined some Haiboxing groups on FB and IG! I super enjoy the cars and am projecting purchasing many more RC's from HBX! Props to a company making legit products for actual hobbyists.Overall:My conclusion is that this is a very durable product made by a company that really hit the nail on the head with entry level, hobby grade RC cars that are upgradable, affordable and easily will entertain everyone from pro racers looking for an everyday basher to children getting their first RC car. You would be doing yourself a favor to stop searching. This IS the car you want! For the price, this is a nice little rc off roader, but it has some faults.1. The controller is very cheaply made. It only takes 2 AA, so life on the remote is pretty short. The plastic feels flimsy and the wheel sticks.2. All the steering components feel like a cheap plastic. I fully expect them to break rather quickly.3. There are not many upgrade options for this car.

Good entry level rc car. Better battery life than the truck version of same platform. Very durable suspension and body. I would recommend this car.

Great bang for your buck!! I've owned $600-$700 name brand nitro powered and this brings just as much fun. Battery life is surprisingly long, the charge time is shorter than advertised. I have no complaints and am considering purchasing multiple cars for the family.

I bought this for myself, I wanted something decent I could blast through my apartment and this little beast is just perfect. It's powered by what looks like two low capacity 14500 lithium ion cells, so if you're handy it's easy to make your own little battery pack at 850mah or 1000mah, it would probably make life easier to change the fittings while you're at it. With some minor cutting there is enough space to make your own 4 cell battery pack if you wanted.

J'ai donné l'auto hier comme cadeau de noël à mon fils mais l'auto ne fonctionne pas. Le chargeur reste avec une lumière rouge allumée. Puis je recevoir une autre batterie s.v.p. if you want a car that isnt just another cheap toy, this is it. it was cheap enough for me to afford it , but quality enough that my step son wasnt board of it in 2 seconds. it goes super fast. he was wipping donuts on solid pavement. it has slow speed and fast speed. battery lasted about 12 minutes, doesnt seem like long but most tv shows nowadays are like 19 minutes. so i was ok with that time. it is pretty tough to.
