First, all of the dialog was written like a schoolbook. No one spoke in contractions (I have instead of I've) and the only slang used was wicked (as a superlative), and it just did not sound like real like people actually speak. The esker was referred to as the glacier for the first third of the book, and the 11 year break between occurrences seemed too long to have no action on the part of the creature. I liked the story and as another reviewer has said the ending was pretty far out, and the science of the origin of the creature was too far from even a hint of possibility.

Good story overall
I grew up in this area, so It was all so familiar to me. You even used names of people I knew. A refreshing story but the last few paragraphs were too way out there. Good story overall.
